The standard 3.0" double socket arm has a socket at either end to allow a 1" diameter ball accessories to be connected. A tightening screw on the side of the arm enables the sockets to clamp firmly to a RAM 1" diameter ball. When loosening the side screw, a single spring inside the arm opens the sockets allowing you to pivot the ball and socket connection or completely disconnect the ball from the socket.
The arm length is 3.0" when measured from socket center to socket center. The total length of the arm is 3.69".

RAM-B-238U
The RAM universal plate has a 1.0" diameter rubber ball connected at right angles to a 1 1/4" x 2 1/2" Diamond Plate. The plate has two holes 1.912" from center to center, positioned at either tip of the diamond plate. This base plate will attach to any of the RAM composite HOL holders and the industry standard AMPS hole pattern.
