Electromagnetic Shield- smart shield

Model #: smart shield
Electromagnetic Shield- smart shield by AST
Electro magnetic shielding is necessary to isolate
sensitive apparatus from the electro magnetic fields.
Whenever space is limited it may not be a viable
option to evacuate an entire room or several rooms
exposed to very high magnetic field levels.

  • What are electric and magnetic fields or “EMF”
Before man-made electricity, humans were exposed only to the magnetic field
of the earth, electric fields caused by charges in the clouds or by the static
electricity of two objects rubbing together, or the sudden electric and magnetic
    fields caused by lightning.
Levels of electromagnetic fields (EMF) from human-made sources have
increased steadily since the advent of commercial electricity in the last century.
Wherever there is electricity, there are also electric and magnetic fields,
invisible lines of force created by the electric charges. Electric fields result from
the strength of the charge while magnetic fields result from the motion of the
    charge, or the current.
Electric fields are easily shielded: they may be weakened, distorted or blocked
by conducting objects such as earth, trees, and buildings, but magnetic fields
are not as readily blocked because magnetic fields are not blocked by most
materials. The strength of the magnetic field decreases rapidly with distance
    from the source.
    Is EMF Exposure Harmful?
15% of electronic equipment failures (such as servers, electro-medical
equipments, PLCs) or communication networks under performance are reported
    to be cause by EMF.
Nobody knows for sure whether exposure to 50 and 60 Hertz fields is a health
risk. But there is some evidence from epidemiology studies that exposure to
power-frequency EMF is associated with an increased risk for childhood
    leukemia.

Applications
· Hospitals: Protection of sensible equipment: MRI Rooms, X-Ray Rooms,
Intensive Care Units, Electro-Encephalogram Rooms, etc. Perhaps the
most serious consequences of interference from EMF are those which
occur in medical laboratories and hospitals. Here, common
electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues take on life-threatening
features. Interference with the normal operation of medical devices can
have catastrophic consequences.
· Airports: Communication and Network Rooms, etc
· Military / Government: Radar Room, TEMPEST, Simulator Rooms, etc.
· Biotech: Electro-Beam Microscopes, Labs, etc
· IT: Data Centre, Back-up Rooms, Telecom Room, etc
· Industrial Facilities: Electric Welding Machines, Transformers, Electrical
Switchboards, etc
