The DataGuard rf system helps reduce the risk of lost and misfiled tapes and improves both efficiency and reliability. The user scans RFID-enabled cartridges, either individually or up to 20 cartridges within a transport case, as they arrive and exit a location. The system automatically logs each cartridge transaction into a database that is linked to the customer's tape management system. 	Imation DataGuard rf™ Volser Labels with RFID	Proven RFID technology that provides inventory control for many of the world's most successful companies is now ready for the data center. In one robust label (patent pending in the U.S. and other countries), Imation has coupled passive RFID tags with a specially printed volume-and-serial-number or "Volser" identification, which is then securely applied to each tape cartridge in the data center. *Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology - an integrated circuit with a passive RFID chip and a custom-designed antenna for extended range. *Volser identification - it combines bar code, color and serial number for limitless flexibility. *Advanced UHF (ultra high frequency) technology - for increased range and 100% accuracy. At the heart of the label is Imation's custom designed antenna, which extends read ranges up to 6 feet for a single cartridge and up to 2 feet for 20 cartridges in a DataGuard™ transport case. The built-in antenna also increases accuracy, since each label is tuned to be read both straight on and at angles of up to 45 degrees. No double or triple passes are needed. Imation's Volser labels with integrated RFID technology enable UHF readers to quickly read each cartridge with 100% accuracy and reliability, thus allowing data center personnel to more efficiently track every tape cartridge. AquaGuard™ Surface An added advantage to using Imation's RFID labels is that each label features an AquaGuard Surface that will not wash away and is smudge-and smear-resistant. The AquaGuard surface locks the ink in place, extending the life of your label.
	Imation DataGuard rf™ Handheld Reader	The DataGuard rf™ Handheld Reader, a fully tested Motorola 9090G, is used for scanning cartridges and cases using Imation Volser Labels with RFID. The Reader syncs with a transportable docking station or Wi-Fi to upload the scanned information to your existing tape management system. This well known, reliable technology is the ideal instrument for performing library audits and recording tape cartridge daily movements to and from your data center or offsite storage facility. The device is also programmable to create watch lists for locating misfiled or out-of-sequence cartridges. The hand-held device comes pre-loaded with proprietary Imation software that interfaces with your current tape management system. The device features dual function technology which enables reading of our integrated RFID labels as well as traditional tape cartridge bar code labels. This advantage allows you to immediately begin transitioning your library to the more efficient RFID technology as you purchase new media without the hassle of a complete conversion or multiple readers.

Imation DataGuard™ Transport and Storage Case, the first terabyte-class storage case, provides the highest level of protection for your cartridges to help ensure the safety of vital company information. Rugged and ultra durable, the Imation DataGuard Transport and Storage Case has been tested to outperform other leading storage cases in everyday use with two- to four-times the shock protection. Its design features a universal top insert with three interchangeable bottom inserts to accommodate a variety of cartridge formats, offering enhanced flexibility for multi-format cartridge users.
